Movie Night @ FAB9 : “Shenzhen: The Silicon Valley of Hardware”
February 13 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm UTC+11
Join Melbourne’s startup community and the emerging community of makers to watch the documentary movie “Shenzhen: The Silicon Valley of Hardware”. The film looks at how the evolution of “Shanzhai” – or copycat manufacturing – has transformed traditional models of business, distribution and innovation, and asks what the rest of the world can learn from this so-called “Silicon Valley of hardware”.
Watch the documentary trailer at https://youtu.be/hUtUwRRlTKw
After the movie, director and documentary filmmaker Karl von Moller will play a short reel from his series ‘State of Electronics’ and have a Q&A session to discuss his passion. There will also be a preview tour of FAB9, Melbourne’s newest high-tech makerspace.
The $5 fee is to cover 🍕 pizza and drinks. Please don’t forget to pay that when you RSVP. Thank you🙏
